Introducing the New 10.2-inch Interactive Kiosk for iPad

The seventh-generation iPad (2019) brings a larger screen and faster performance to Apple’s most cost-effective tablet solution. Today, we’re excited to announce Aila’s latest Interactive Kiosk for the 10.2-inch iPad.

What’s new on the 10.2-inch iPad

One of the most notable changes with the 10.2-inch iPad is the switch to iPadOS (from iOS, which continues to run on the Apple iPhone and iPod touch). Historically, Apple has maintained update support for its devices for 5 years or more, with that number increasing with each release.  This means enterprises who roll out new solutions (or refresh old ones) with the latest iPad can expect to receive software update support for much longer than devices running on Android without the need for additional service contracts. 

Also new to the seventh generation iPad is a slightly larger display (10.2 inches vs 9.7 inches). Additionally, Apple has upped the RAM from 2GB to 3GB, providing a lift in performance for the latest applications.

However, the form factor for the 2019 10.2-inch iPad remains mostly unchanged from the 2018 model, featuring the same Home button, Lightning port, and 3.5 mm headphone jack that many users missed on the latest Pro model iPads.

Building off of the success of the Interactive Kiosk for iPad Pro, the new Interactive Kiosk for 7th generation iPads also includes the ability to support peripherals without the need for additional cables. That means powering accessories, such as payment terminals, that connect to the Interactive Kiosk via BlueTooth is easier than ever.

For businesses that need to power multiple devices, run intensive applications, and are seeking an even larger screen size, Aila’s Interactive Kiosk for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro remains the most powerful and robust iPad kiosk for enterprise. 

Peripherals are powered via the onboard USB-C port, with USB-C being the new standard that device manufacturers are rapidly adopting.

 The Interactive Kiosk for 7th generation iPad is compatible with all of Aila’s mounting options:

Kiosk enclosures come in white or black, with faceplate colors in black, white, grey, or custom. 

To turn your kiosk into a point of sale terminal, the new Interactive Kiosk is compatible with leading POS attachments from Ingenico and Verifone. 

For applications that need a printer, such as checkout, or price checking, the Interactive Kiosk is compatible with printers from Epson and Star Micronics. A floor stand bracket enables businesses to mount printers directly to the floor stand.
