Case Study: Plenum

Plenum is a retail service provider that tracks inventory and manages logistics for stores across Central and South America. By helping retailers keep their shelves full, Plenum enables smarter inventory management—from checking stock to replenishment orders to tracking deliveries to re-stocking. This helps businesses save significant amounts of revenue by preventing the lost sales that typically occur when items go out of stock.

As a part of its services, Plenum works with third-party personnel who scan every SKU on its clients’ shelves on a daily basis. To maintain transparency and accountability throughout the process, Plenum needed an on-site kiosk to track the arrival and departure of inventory personnel. The kiosk would allow workers to easily scan in and out, logging transactions so that all events could be referenced in real-time from a centralized information system.

Because iOS-based software was already in use for other parts of Plenum’s operations, Aila’s iPad-based Interactive Kiosk was a perfect fit. Its scanning capabilities include quick and accurate reading of the barcodes on the national ID cards that are ubiquitous across Central and South America, while working flawlessly in any lighting environment.

This also improves transparency with our vendors, as we know how long personnel are in the store, what time they come in and what time they leave, and if they do what they are supposed to on the sales floor with the product.
