Retailer rue21, which caters to teenage fashion, installed Aila’s Designer Series as a feature of their flagship store’s rueLounge. The company, currently operating 1,120 stores in 47 states, wanted a product that could capture the imagination of their tech-savvy clientele while still providing top-class functionality and security. From a recent press release:
Warrendale, Pa.-based teen specialty apparel retailer rue21 inc. recently opened its newest flagship in Cranberry Township, Pa. The store, which is approximately 8,000 sq. ft., includes apparel and accessories for both girls and guys, as well as rue21's newest and fastest-growing division, rue+ plus sizes.
The new store includes rue21’s first-ever interactive area, called the rueLounge, a space dedicated to rue21’s social savvy customers. It is equipped with free WiFi, a cellphone charging station, iPads to browse and shop rue21.com, as well as a flatscreen TV streaming videos and branded content. The lounge will serve as an area where teen customers can relax and interact, transforming it into a hangout. A “selfie” area also is visible outside the fitting rooms where shoppers can try on the newest trends and share on social media.
Using Aila, rue21 is deepening their relationship with this notoriously fickle customer base by providing the type of innovative, interactive shopping experience they expect.
